Galion Public Library Event

Sun, May 13th:

Library Software Migration

The Galion Public Library will be migrating to new software for our main catalog and circulation system, the week of May 13th—17th. Some library services will not be available during this time. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience, but we believe this migration will allow us to serve you better going forward.
Catalog
Our catalog will not be available. You will not be able to log into your account, check items you have checked out and when they are due, renew online. We will go offline when we close on Saturday, May 12th. These services will remain unavailable until we are on the new system on Thursday, May 17th. At that time, the new catalog will be at galion.cool-cat.org. We told our computer system that we are closed on these dates, so nothing will be due on the days we are offline.
Holds and Returns
Items returned to the library during the migration will be set aside and not checked in (and, therefore, not available for the next person to check out), and new holds cannot be placed, until after we are live on the new system. We apologize for the delays, but this is absolutely necessary.
Checking Out
You will still be able to visit the library and check out materials during the migration.
Ohio Digital Library
We believe you will still be able to use the Ohio Digital Library during the migration but if you are having problems with your account, we will not be able to fix them during this time.
Consortium of Ohio Libraries
Once we are live, we will be joining the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (C.O.O.L.). Beginning on Wednesday, May 30th, we will be able to request items from the other member libraries. You will be able to place holds on materials from any of the libraries in COOL, and they will be shipped here for you to check out. So there is something to look forward to.
