The Galion Public Library Association is governed by an independent, self-perpetuating board of trustees, although of course there are close ties between the library and the Galion community.
Open positions in the board of trustees are filled from the members at large of the association. Membership in the association is open to the public, and anyone interested in becomming a member of the association should speak with the Director. The association meets annually.
The board of trustees meets monthly, together with the library Director and the Clerk-Treasurer. Communications for the board from the public should generally be channelled through the Director.
The board is very supportive of the library's efforts to create a positive, interesting, and educational environment and provide meaningful services for the community. From time to time, you may see board members in the library — don't be alarmed: they don't bite — observing our day-to-day operation, gaining valuable perspective on the needs and desires of our patrons and staff.
