The Galion Public Library will be taking applications for several part-time student shelver positions. One children's shelver will begin immediately, and the others will begin sometime this summer. This is a minimum-wage position. Successful applicants will work 12-18 hours per week throughout the year, not just in the summer, and will need to work evenings and Saturdays. This position is supervised at all times.
Although the main function of the position is to reshelve books and put away other library items, the successful applicant will help at the circulation desks and have other duties as well.
The library will be giving a short test to cover alphabetizing ability and other library-related skills before the interviews. Successful applicants will need to stand on their feet for long periods and bea ble to reach and lift to put books away. Successful applicants will also need to have good people skills for working with the public.
The Galion Public Library will only be taking applications for two weeks, from March 8th to March 22nd. Any applications submitted after this time will be returned.
