Summer Reading for All Ages
Our summer reading theme this year is All Together Now. We have programs for Adults, for Teens, and for Children. Summer reading begins on June 1st and lasts through July 31st.
Ohio Bird Sanctuary

Reading Dragons and Friends Going Away Party
We are sending Reading Dragons and Friends away with a fun dragon themed party! We had a blast on this journey with you all, but we will not continue the program following this month, May of 2023. From 4:30 to 5:30, we will be having 3 different dragon themed crafts! For ages 6 - 18. You do not have to sign up for Reading Dragons and Friends to participate.

Painting with Lexie!
Start off the Summer by painting some houses for our village of kindness with Miss Lexie! For children up to age 12 and signup is not required! Fri, Jun 2nd, 11-1pm.
The Ohio Wildlife Center will be visiting the Galion Public Library with several of their animal ambassadors. Come and learn about the local wildlife in your backyard. Thu, Jun 8th at 1pm.
Stop in at the Tiger's Den to have some fun! We may even play some games while we skate around. Free to skate but parents are responsible if their child wants concessions. Participants will have to sign a waiver on arrival. Thu, Jun 22nd, 1-3:30pm.
Can't get enough of fun science and curious about how things work? Then come see Scientific Mayhem for fun hands-on exciting activities and experiments! Thu, Jul 6th.

Candy Kingdom Reading Program
Join us on this sweet reading adventure. We have opportunities for claw machines, stickers, and fun, for ages birth through kindergarten. This is a revamped version of our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
Emoji Party
Join us for a hilariously good time as we play around with our favorite little buddies! We will have several crafts and great activities. Including making Emoji slime! For children and teens of all ages. Activities include decorating plates, cell phone selfies, bowling, and more! Mon, Jul 17th at 1pm.

Trivia Night
Come show off your knowledge at trivia night! Winners receive free books! Adults and teens ages 16+ are welcome. Questions may span a wide range of topics, anywhere from literature to music to history! Answers will be multiple choice. You may play as a team or solo competitor!
Coffee & Coloring
From 10:30am-12:30am please join us at Three Bean Coffee House for 2 hours of cozy coloring and drinks! All ages are welcome! We have both simple and complex coloring pages available. The only cost to you is your drink of choice! We hope to see you there! This event happens monthly on every 2nd Tuesday.
Bingo! for Books
Come in and play bingo, winners leave with a new book of their choice! There will be plenty of opportunities to win too; Cards will be played through until we get three bingo winners each round! We'll be playing from 6pm to 8pm. Always free to play! This is a bi-monthly event!

Adult Dungeons and Dragons
A Dungeons and Dragons campaign for players ages 17+! Any amount of experience is welcome, from new adventurers to those who have been on the path since 1e! Sign-up IS required. Adult DnD will be held on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 6pm-8pm. Seats are limited to a total of SIX players. Send an email to nico@galionlibrary.org for inquiry! Please include your first and last name, your age, and your phone number (this is for us to reach out to you in the event of any session cancellations or session specific information). You will receive an email back either confirming your seat at the table, or letting you know that all seats have already been filled. Those who reach out after we've closed sign-ups will be added to a contact list of on-call players. These people will be contacted if a seat opens up for a new player to join!
Adult Craft Night
Come together to create on the first Friday of every month, starting at 4pm! Ages 15+ are welcome and our programs are always free. Information on what we'll be crafting is available on our Facebook page! Some craft nights will be held from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, depending on the craft. If it does, we will try to provide notice.
Adult Game Night
A game night for adults ages 18+ Reoccurring every final Monday of the month from 5:30pm - 8pm. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own as well! We'll decide what to play as a group or split off into smaller groups if it's a split decision. Anything from cards to board games is on the table!

Join us for Storytime each week, on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. The Community Room will open for admittance at 10:15 am. Storytime may not occur on certain weeks due to be affected by holidays. In addition, Storytime does not occur in the month of May or December.

Caffeinated Cards
Card and coffee lovers unite! Join us once a month at Three Bean Coffee House from 2PM to 4PM for card games! Ages 18+. Games being played will be decided together as a group, separate groups will be made if there is a split decision!
Adult Spelling Bee
Partnering with the Bucyrus Public Library, join us for our very first Adult Spelling Bee hosted at The 1803 Taproom! Ages 18+ only, sign-up is REQUIRED for participants. Audience members are welcome and encouraged! Prizes: 3rd place, $15 Barnes and Noble gift card; 2nd place, $25 Barnes and Noble gift card; 1st place, $50 Barnes and Noble gift card. Additional prizes will be given for participation. This event is only for adults ages 18+. Sign-up is REQUIRED and may be done through the Galion or Bucyrus Public Libraries in person or via phone call or email to Nico (Galion) or Kate (Bucyrus). Teen Hangout
Come hang out with us and other teens! Teens in grades 6 - 12 are welcome to join us as we hang out by playing games, doing activities, watching movies, and more! Occurs on the 2nd Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm following Lego Club. Note: Teen Hangout in January will begin at 6pm because we are watching the movie "Rise of the Guardians". Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Junior Dungeons and Dragons
Individuals ages 9 - 12 are invited to join us for Dungeons and Dragons on the 2nd Wednesday of the month! Sign is required in person and parents have to sign a permission slip. The game starts at 4:30pm and ends at 6:30pm. Dice and character will be provided if needed. Snacks and drinks will be available.
Kids Video Game Afternoon
Individuals ages 9 to 12 are invited to ring their Nintendo Switch in to play with others, or play games on our own GPL switch! Or you can play with some card and board games! Fri, Jun 23rd, 3-5pm.
Tiny Art

Homeschool Hangout
Calling all Galion home school families! Youth of all ages (so long as they are being home schooled) are welcome to join in for fun and to meet new friends. We will meet on the first Thursday of the month at 1:00pm. to do hands-on activities and games. Each month's activities will be themed to a different subject. Some of the subjects we will be exploring are: Math, History, Science, English, and Engineering.
Teen Ghost Hunt
Join the library for a special amateur ghost hunt at Brownella Cottage. Intended for grades 6 - 12. Ghost hunting equipment will be available, but limited. Sat, Sep 30th at 5pm.
Kid's Comic Club
Like to read Graphic Novels or Manga? Have a favorite Superhero? Want to hangout with others who like to love this stuff too? Then join us for Comic Club! Every 2nd Tuesday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm we will be doing different activities, games, and occasionally watch movies, all themed to our favorite comic books! This club is intended for individuals in grades 3 - 5.
Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale

Karaoke Night
Join us for KARAOKE NIGHT! Ages 18+ are welcome to join us. No sign-up is required to join, but singers will need to be added to the queue to sing. Please bring a list of your karaoke song choices. Songs will be reviewed and content approved before performing. Sing your favorite songs while hanging out with friends! Sponsored by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging! We've partnered with a number of county and community organizations and non-profits to provide you with the services and information our local community provides! All ages are welcome! Come through for free information, fun activities, and treats and cider provided by the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging and our other wonderful non-profits. Mon, Oct 23rd, 3-7pm.
Puzzle Race
Four words: TEAM. 🤙 VERSUS. ⚔️ PUZZLE. 🧩 RACE. 🏁 | Go head to head to be the first team to complete a 500 piece puzzle! The winning team will receive a 750 piece puzzle to complete together. The race will begin at 4:00PM, with a cutoff time of 8:00PM! For ages 13 and up. | Sign-up is REQUIRED for this program in order to balance the teams! Sign-up is first come, first serve. Participants will be split into two teams to compete! As of now, the main address (galion.cool-cat.org) resolves to the new version, called Aspen Discovery, which is already up and running. Links and the search form on our main website also now point to the new version.

Pumpkin Carving/Painting Party
Join us for our Pumpkin Carving & Painting Party! We have plenty of medium/large pumpkins as well as a limited number of smaller, sugar pie pumpkins for painting. All supplies will be provided, and all ages are welcome to join us.
