Roswell Dinner Mystery for Teens
Join us for an after-hours beach-party mystery featuring an alien invasion. Luau or alien costumes are encouraged. For ages 12-18. Preregistration is required: call or visit the library to sign up. Sat, Aug 6th, 6-8:30pm.
Life-Size Lawn Chess
All skill levels are invited to play a game of chess where the players are the pieces. Weather permitting, this game will be held on the lawn. Ages 8 and up are welcome to participate, but registration is required. Call or stop by the library to sign up. Wed, Jul 27th at 6pm.
Preschool Time
Special events for young children are held on Mondays at 6:30pm and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30am. These events feature stories, games, crafts, and all sorts of fun. Registration is not required: you can just show up. See the calendar for each week's theme.
Monster Mash Bash (K-2)

Fairy Gardening 101
Curious about the magical art of fairy gardening? Janet from Janet's Floral and Design in Ontario will be giving an informal talk on the basics, in the library's Community Room. Noel Lizotte Book Signing

Used Book Sale
The Friends of the Library will hold their fall book sale. Thu, Oct 27th, 9-8pm, Fri, Oct 28th, 9-5pm, and Sat, Oct 29th, 9-Noon.
Star Wars Reads: Fall Fun Day
Come to the Children's Room for some Star Wars crafts and fall-themed fun. There will be a scavenger hunt, mini pumpkins to decorate, Star Wars books, and more. You do not need to register for this program: you can just show up any time between 1 and 4. Sat, Oct 8th, 1-4pm.
Hauntings of the Ohio State Reformatory
Join us for a haunting look into the paranormal history of the Ohio State Reformatory. Becky McKinnell will be presenting her experiences working with the Ohio State Reformatory Preservation Society. Registration is required: call or stop by the main desk to sign up. Tue, Oct 18th at 6pm.
Zombie Prom
Get your ticket for our fifth annual Zombie Prom. There will be a live DJ, refreshments, games, prizes, and costume awards. Ages 12-18, get your ticket for free at the library. A ticket is required for entrance, so get yours before we run out. Sat, Oct 29th, 7-9pm.
Pumpkin Painting Contest
Do you have the most creative pumpkin in the patch? Submit your entry to our contest.
Entries can be brought into the library beginning Monday, October 17th. Pumpkins may not be carved in any way, and the paint on the pumpkins must be dry to be accepted. Submitted creations will be placed on display at the library, and patrons will be encouraged to visit the library and vote for their favorite pumpkin. Judging will take place on Thursday, November 17th. Contestants do not need to be present to win.
Prizes will be given for Best in Show (public vote) and The Great Pumpkin (library staff vote). Prizes will be given in two age categories, 13+ and 12 and under. The winners in each category will receive a $15 Barnes & Noble gift card. Entry forms are available at the main desk.
Amateur Paint Night
Can't paint? No problem. No painting skills are required for this awesome event. Join us for a fun night of painting led by Nancy Foss. There will be a $5 fee, collected the night of the event, to cover the cost of supplies. Participants will leave with a complete winter-themed painting on canvas. Space is limited, so call or stop by the library to reserve your spot today. Wed, Nov 2nd at 6pm.

Cooking for Two

Anime Club
Join us for anime, manga, cosplay, and Japanese culture. Note that we have switched to Tuesdays in 2016. Teens in grades 6-12 do not need to register for the anime club: you can just show up.

Teen Board Meeting
5:30pm on the third Thursday each month. The teen board will meet to discuss teen matters and plan future events.

The library board meets at the library at 4pm on the third Monday of each month.
